Our People - Ron Baragry

Ron is the Legal Practitioner Director Ai Group Legal Pty. Ltd, based in our Sydney offices, and is an industrial law specialist, with many years experience in private practice. In April 2005, Ron was appointed Legal Counsel – National Workplace Relations for the Australian Industry Group. He is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia.

Prior to joining Ai Group Ron practised for many years with a city firm in Sydney being partner in charge of Employment and Industrial Law, and Senior Partner. He has appeared in numerous industrial test cases including the Electrolux High Court decision.

Ron has a Bachelor of Laws and Master of Labour Law and Relations (Syd), and has been an occasional lecturer in postgraduate labour law studies for the University of Sydney Law School.

Ron has been a member of numerous professional bodies including the Employment Law Committee of the Law Society of NSW, a Member of the Accreditation Committee of Law Society of NSW and an assessor for employment and industrial specialist accreditation, Member National Committee of the Australian Labour Law Association and organisation committee for 2009 World Labour Law Conference in Sydney and a Member of the Advisory Board of Workplace Research Centre (Sydney University). He is also an Editorial Referee for Industrial Publications and regularly publishes papers and gives seminars on all facets of industrial law.
